Residency Construction
Most residencies are a job title and a Slack channel. Yours can be a real sending pipeline.
Who this is for
- Sending-church pastors building their first residency.
- Church-planting network leaders rebuilding a residency that isn't sending.
- Larger churches with a residency that's really an internship in disguise.
What we do
I've built residencies for our own church and for churches all over the country. We start with a five-part residency scorecard: candidate assessment, funding model, competencies, evaluation rhythm, and sending pathway.
Then we build what's missing. Job description with real competencies. Funding stack that actually pays your resident. A cadence of evaluation your sending team can carry. And a defined pathway — including how you route residents into Send Network Apprenticeship, SBTC Internship, and other endorsement tracks when it fits.
Monthly working sessions with you and your sending team. Between sessions, I review your artifacts — application, competencies rubric, milestone documents — and give you red-line feedback.
What you walk out with
- A residency your sending team can actually run — not a document that sits in a drawer.
- A candidate assessment your elders will trust.
- A funding model that doesn't collapse the church budget.
- A defined pathway from resident → assessed candidate → sent planter.
A 30-minute conversation is where we start.
You tell me what's stuck. I'll tell you honestly whether coaching is the right next step.
