Pastor. Planter. Sender. Now coach.

The short version

I've been in local-church leadership since 2002. Involved in church planting since 2010. Planting my own church since 2013. Sending planters since 2014. Our church has sent 15 planters.

Today I'm the Director of Send Network SBTC — the church-planting arm of one of the largest state conventions in the country. On my watch we've launched 35 plants in 2022, 48 in 2023, 65 in 2024, and 67 in 2025.

Why I coach

Most planters I meet don't need another book. They need someone who has actually done this — who knows the frameworks and the fine print, who understands Send Network and state conventions from the inside, and who will tell them the truth when their sending church, their spouse, and their assessor won't.

I've been that person for a lot of planters informally over the last decade. Coaching is how I do it with structure, on a rhythm I can sustain, without stealing hours from CityView or SEND.

What I bring

• Twenty-four years of local-church ministry, including planting.
• Twelve years of hands-on planting and sending.
• Four years directing one of the largest state-convention planting networks in the country.
• Residency construction experience — for our own church and for churches all over the country.
• Working knowledge of Send Network Apprenticeship, SBTC Internship, and hybrid residency pathways.
• A pastor's heart. I care whether your marriage survives the launch.

What I don't do

I don't coach on preaching mechanics, worship-leading, or theological training — you have better people for those. I don't do generic "life coaching." I don't sell packages or produce a lot of content. Coaching is a small, deliberate part of what I do, and I keep the roster small on purpose.
