What do Christians believe? Why? If someone were to ask you what you believe about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit could you tell them?
Would you like to be able to?Introducing…BELIEVE ME, a discipleship series designed to help YOU understand the basic teachings of Christianity. BELIEVE ME begins May 1st at 6pm and will continue through May 22nd, Sunday nights at FBC Pearland. Pastor Jason will be teaching this class helping YOU understand what YOU believe.
We want to bring a deeper understanding of the Christian faith to Christians. We all need to understand what we believe and why. Beyond that these doctrines are supposed to move us deeply. We’ll talk about how important these doctrines are to our Bible Study, Spiritual Growth, and Worship. If you’d like to take this class, and live in the Houston areas, you can signup online here.
I’ll be sharing about this class regularly as the weeks come up.
We kicked off READ ME last night at FBC Pearland. 117 people showed up for our first Read Me class. We are at capacity, which is incredible as I’d expected maybe 8 people to signup when I decided to offer the class. We discussed Part 1 of Why We Study The Bible. Then we looked at My Method and immediately got to work on 1 John. It was incredible to watch as 117 people with varying ages from grade school into their 70s studied God’s Word in one room. Some pictures are below. We worked through 1 John 1.1-4 and journaled what God was saying to us there. Then we discussed some resources that would be helpful in Bible Study.
I’ve been praying about something for a while and would like your opinion on it. I’ve realized that frequently we tell people to “know their Bible” and “study the Word”, but rarely do we equip them to do it. I’m praying about teaching a class in January that would teach people how to study the Bible. I’d like to know if you all in the Pearland/Houston area would be interested. I would really appreciate your input. Feel free to ask questions in the comment area.
